Agrifood Technology Station
The aim of newly established AgriFood Technology Station is provide a complete range of scientific and technical services to the agricultural and food industries.Our motto is to assist the agricultural and food industries to profit from science and technology. In order to achieve our aims the station offers Process development and improvement, problem-solving, specific analytical services, training, awareness programs, assistance with commercialization of emerging entrepreneurs, etc. The station have access to a broad spectrum processing plant, analytical laboratories and a sensory facility. We are also in a position to assist with the transfer of technology developed by full time research teams.
The station will deal with the following:
- Technology transfer e.g. product development, chemical and microbiological analyses, advisory service, etc
- Empowerment e.g. aiding emerging entrepreneurs to establish enterprises based on sound scientific principals
- Food, health and safety practices e.g. good manufacturing practises, toxicology, waste management, etc
The technology station plays a major role in identifying the specific needs of SME's in selected sectors and providing technology solutions based on the expertise of the University of Technology. The technology station provides product development, analysis on chemical and micro biological and value adding to current products.
